General Services:
The International Division provides technical assistance
to businesses interested in international trade,
assists in securing export financing,
organizes inbound and outbound trade
missions, and provides promotion of direct and foreign
investment.
The office also forms special relationships with
other goverments primarily through the Sister Cities
and Partnership Cities Programs and serves as a
liaison to the Diplomatic and Consul community.

The Philadelphia Trade Office offers technical assistance
to businesses seeking expansion globally. Whether
you are new to exports or seeking additional international
prospects or expansion through investments into
new markets, the Philadelphia Trade Office can make
your job easier.
The Philadelphia Trade Office staff can assist in
identifying:
- Best markets,
- Trade leads,
- New buyers,
- Investment opportunities,
- Financing,
- Promotion of inbound and outbound trade missions,
and
- Assistance in direct foreign investment.
This office also organizes and promotes seminars
and workshops on the specifics of exporting, federal
trade programs and initiatives, and export-market
opportunities.
Foreign Attraction Strategic Location - Located
on the east coast, between New York and Washington
D.C., Philadelphia has a convenient transportation
system that includes ground, port, air, and rail.
Research Assistance - The office provides research
assistance for companies requiring information about
Philadelphia. Site Selection - The office can help
find the right site for companies looking to relocate
or expand in Philadelphia. There are a number of
existing buildings and build-to-suit opportunities
in both office and industrial space.
On-Site Job Training and Recruitment Programs -
The office links companies needing to recruit or
train employees to an active network of public and
private organizations performing these services.
Keystone Opportunity Zones, Empowerment Zones, and
Enterprise Zones - These programs offer tax credits
to businesses and a substantial portion of Philadelphia's
industrial and commercial real estate is within

Trade Zone - The Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) allows
manufacturers using imported parts and materials
to expedite customs and reduce or eliminate some
fees and tariffs. There are two locations, one at
the Philadelphia Port and the other at the Philadelphia
International Airport.

Philadelphia is an ideal place for office, industrial,
research and development, technology, warehouse
and distribution. Diplomatic and Consulate Affairs
There are many consuls representing their respective
governments in the city. They are the key point
of contact for local government and corporations
seeking economic and commercial partnerships abroad.
In cooperation with the Consular community, the
City is able to strengthen international, economic,
and cultural relationships.
Export Financing The Philadelphia Department of
Commerce, through its partnership with the Export-Import
Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), offers financial
assistance to small to medium-sized firms in more
than 140 countries. Ex-Im Bank is the official export
credit agency of the U.S. government offering financing
opportunities worldwide and whose mission is to
support U.S. jobs through exports.
Sister Cities The City of Philadelphia has Sister
City relationships and Partnership City relationships
in a variety of different countries in Africa, Asia,
Europe, and the Middle East. The object of the Sister
City and Partnership City programs is to promote
the City of Philadelphia abroad through business,
cultural, and educational exchanges.
